Why I Built Hikari Books

Two years ago I hit rock bottom. After seeing countless doctors and hearing that, despite all the pain, everything was "normal," I realized there was still something I hadn't tried. People always say the mind is powerful, that it can heal you—and maybe that was worth exploring.

The first book that truly opened my mind was The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy. At the time, I was struggling with constant, severe pain that nothing seemed to relieve, and I felt deeply frustrated and hopeless. Now, two years since I began this journey, I am gradually transforming my mind and body, step by step. Along the way, I’ve read many books about the power of the mind, like Joe Dispenza’s Becoming Supernatural, among others. What I want to emphasize is that books have given me hope and have expanded my perspective. It hasn’t been easy, but I know I’m on the right path. That’s why I created Hikari Books—to help others find the book they need most, at the precise moment they need it.

The hard part was finding the book for the exact problem I was experiencing. Most apps only suggest “try leadership” or “try mindfulness.” But what if what you need is a book for, “I wake up scared and can’t focus during the day”?

Hikari Books exists to remove that frustration. At those times, there were so many options for personal growth or healing—but which one to choose? It’s the tool I needed when I felt lost.

What Hikari Actually Does

Hikari reads whatever you write—confused, emotional, or half-finished sentences—and turns that intention into six books that can help right now. No dropdowns, no categories.

Think of it as a librarian who knows Google Books, my personal research, and the wider internet. You get a short list with plain-language explanations, useful metrics, and one small action to try after each book.

How It Works in Three Steps

  1. Tell the truth. Write what is happening (“I’m burned out even though I love my work”). Hikari detects the language and emotion automatically.
  2. Answer some quick questions. They adapt to your tone and clarify what you’ve tried, how you want to feel, and the language you prefer.

  1. Receive a ranked Top 6. The engine searches Google Books, my Pinecone embeddings, and trusted web sources, removes low-quality titles, and mixes relevance with diversity so every book adds something new.

In under 30 seconds you get six cards that explain:

  • why the book matters right now;
  • how long it might take to finish;
  • one practical action you can apply;
  • links to preview or buy it.

Why I’m Sharing It Now

Hikari is still evolving, but it already helps me and a few close friends leave stuck loops faster. It’s free because honest feedback is the fuel I need. Every recommendation ends with a button—tap it and tell me if the list helped or if it missed the mark. Your notes improve the engine for the next person who needs hope.

Try Hikari Books whenever you want to find the right book for any category, whether you feel lost, excited, or just want a new perspective. The perfect suggestion starts with your intention, no matter what you’re looking for.
